Russian forces are reported to have crossed the M03 highway and reached Verkhovka, just North of Bakhmut. Paraskoviivka is for all purposes encircled. Russia is attacking Paraskoviivka from all sides and Paraskoviivka will fall, probably in 1-2 days. Russia has also knocked-out Ukraine in Zaliznianske and is expanding its northern pincer in westward direction around Bakhmut. Aid workers, journalists, and civilians are forced to leave Bakhmut. Soon we will see the full encirclement and endgame of Bakhmut. Ukrainian losses are staggering. Every day, Ukraine loses something like 500 dead soldiers, the wounded are probably 1,500-2,000. Every day, Ukraine also loses around 10 artillery systems and 20 armored vehicles. Ukraine asked NATO for 700 armored vehicles, but Ukraine will only get 90 Strykers, 59 Bradley, and 40 Marder – for a total of 189 NATO armored vehicles. That is not even a third of the 700 armored vehicles which Ukraine says it needs to continue the war. At the rate Ukraine is wasting its army, Ukraine will have lost 900 armored vehicles the next 6 weeks (20 a day for 45 days) before Ukraine might get the 189 armored NATO vehicles. So even after Ukraine has got its NATO armored vehicles, Ukraine will have around 711 (900 – 189) armored vehicles LESS than today. These figures may be adjusted a little to either side, but overall they show the right picture. Everyone who can think can see where this is going for Ukraine – down. Ukraine also asked for 300 tanks and Ukraine will probably only get 80 or less Leopard 2 – and Germany is backtracking because the German army naturally doesn’t want to lose its Leopard 2 in Ukraine. This is ridiculous. Abrams won’t come before “late 2023 or 2024” which is = never. Ukraine might get a higher number of Leopard 1 but they have to be “refurbished” for several months first. Besides, the Leopard 1 is unsuitable for attacks, and with a weak 105 mm gun the Leopard 1 is not even capable of strong direct fire support for infantry. There is talk about a number of rusty T-72 in storage from all over the World and some Polish Twardy T-72 variant for Ukraine, but Ukraine is running out of Soviet ammunition for them. With no armored infantry support and no air support, Ukraine’s tanks will anyway evaporate as soon as they appear on the battlefield. Puff. Ukraine is wasted.
