Absolute nonsense, there is no democratic deficit in the EU. Deficit means a shortfall but that is not the case the fact is there is no democracy in the EU and in fact it is anti democratic.

The democratic deficit is disregarded by our modern professional politicians. They serve their own ideals, not the will of the people. Democracy is made impotent and unaccountable when the structure of the system inhibits or prevents the removal of a political group from the body that designs, decides or debates the rules and regulations that people must live under.
The diversity of Europe means that accountability can only be delivered to the people by national institutions.
